Bio
My life has been pretty crazy the past couple years. In January of 2004 I was hospitalized with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma (Cancer) and given a terminal diagnosis. After a long battle, chemotherapy and radiation I made a full recovery. Unfortunately I was in and out of the hospital and laying in bed for a year. I lost contact with most of my friends and needing a care giver put a lot of strain on my relationships.

As of 04/25/06 I am cancer free and I really doubt you'd ever think I had been sick if you met me. Having cancer puts a different perspective on life and I can no longer be careless with my time. I have set out to find personal happiness and part of that includes traveling. After my treatments I took a vacation to OR to see the ocean/mountains/waterfalls of the west coast. I was very unhappy in the flat industrial area I was living in, so I moved to Portland, OR from Detroit, MI in December 2005. I left all my friends, family and old life behind. The best thing about having had a life threatening illness is the freedom it gave me. I was finally able to be me, for me.

I started my own internet business at www.TheEnchantedGallery.com for my artwork + craft supplies (rubber stamps and polymer clay push molds) to help cover medical expenses. Since then my business has grown and I can support myself with no need to leave the house (other than the post office!)

Everyone tells me how cool it is, and yes it's nice...but also boring. I am always alone with none of the social perks of a normal job. Most of my work is internet/mail order and commissions for rubber stamp companies. Everything is done in writing, it's a little weird not knowing who you're working for. You get an image in your mind of who people are based on what they want to buy. The internet takes away the human interaction and creates a void in your mind where people's faces and voices should be.

Art keeps me pretty busy nowadays as I keep growing my rubber stamp catalog business. I love to browse other artist's work here on LJ and DeviantArt. I don't plan on using this to "blog" much, just to keep tabs on other artists.
